He was just 28 when Richard J. Bryan took the reins of the 100 year old, $120 million, family business – a car and truck dealership. As he moved into the role of CEO he soon discovered the business was losing $3.5 million a year, was just months away from bankruptcy and there was no succession plan in place.
Fortunately, Richard found Frank, a seasoned executive and business turnaround specialist who helped put Richard and the business on the road to success. Richard formed a vision for the business, forged a team of A-Players and ultimately saved the family business. Along the way, Richard learned a lifetime of lessons about succession planning and business leadership and today shares that knowledge with current and next gen business leaders.
Richard lives in Evergreen, Colorado with his wife and teenage daughter (his son has already flown the nest and is at university in California!). He makes regular visits to his hometown of Bristol, England where he owns BBH Properties, a real estate development company. A former rugby player, Richard keeps fit skiing and golfing with family and friends.
